Ahmad Mehranfar to star in Iran-Afghanistan production

Iranian actor and playwright Ahmad Mehranfar is set to appear in a leading role in a joint film production between Iran and Afghanistan.    

Mehranfar will star in ‘Pakol’ which is the second feature film by Iranian filmmaker Navid Esmaeeli following his 2020 debut ‘Maman Mahshid’.

‘Pakol’ narrates the story of Amir who goes through worldview changes in his daily routine life.   

‘Pakol’ is set to be submitted to the upcoming edition of the Fajr Film Festival in February 2022.  

The cast team will complete within the next few days with some high-profile actors.

Produced by Gholamreza Azadi, ‘Pakol’ will have Vahid Esmaeeli and Amir Youshi as screenwriters and Shahram Najjarian as the director of cinematography.

Mehranfar became a household name for his role in the TV series ‘The Capital’ (2011), as he played the role of Arasto.

He is best known for his roles in ‘Cease-Fire’ (2006), ‘Nothing’ (2010), ‘Trapped’ (2013), as well as Asghar Farhadi’s 2009 film ‘About Elly’.
